Sudbury’s new health centre set for approval

THE verdict on plans for Sudbury’s new health centre is expected this week.

Proposals for the multi-million pound centre in Church Field Road, Chilton, will go before a development committee on Wednesday.

If granted planning permission, construction on the two-story building, which will bring the town’s healthcare services under one roof, is due to start early next year.

Among the proposals for the three-and-a-half acre site are a 180-space car park, a pedestrian and cycle track and new access road.

Services which will be available at the facility will include paediatrics, midwifery, GPs and x-rays.

The plans have been recommended for approval by Babergh District Councils planning officers.
