Members of Sudbury Rotary Club have presented a cheque for £1,000 to a cause that helps people in developing countries get their sight back.

The money, which was given to the Rotary Opthalmic Initiative (ROI), will fund cataract operations for 285 people in countries such as India and Pakistan.

The ROI was the Rotary’s chosen charity for 2011-12, and the club had already donated £2,500.
