MINISTERS in Sudbury will be preaching their sermons to new audiences on Sunday as they swap their respective churches as part of an event to promote Christian unity.
The Rev Simon Gill, from All Saints Church, and the Rev John Boardman, from St John’s Methodist Church, have decided to lead the services at each other’s churches to support Christian Unity Week.
The week involves Christian communities from different denominations across the world working together.
A total of 21 churches, including those in Glemsford and Great Waldingfield, are taking part in the event, which is run by the Churches Together in Sudbury and District.
Mr Gill said: “It’s a very special week held to promote unity among churches.
“Various services are being held throughout the district during the week and Rev Boardman and I decided to swap for the Sunday service as it was something we had been thinking about.”
Mr Gill will also lead a special service at All Saints Middle School on Wednesday which he said was open to the whole of the town as well as pupils and staff.
