Sudbury carnival is this year moving to Belle Vue Park.

In an attempt to encourage greater public participation, the Sudbury Carnival committee decided to move the event from the Delphi Social Club.

The floats will gather in Sudbury station car park and encircle the town centre as before but will finish at Belle Vue where the fete will be held.

The theme for this year’s carnival is nursery rhymes and children’s books and organisers are hoping more families will get involved with prizes for best child, adult and best float.

There is a need for small to medium-sized lorries, so any businesses or individuals with a vehicle available on August 28, are asked to get in touch.

There are still vacancies for the procession and stalls in Belle Vue Park available.

The contest to become Sudbury’s Carnival Queen and Princesses will be held at the Snooker club in North Street on Friday, July 8, from 7pm.
