A Sudbury business woman who founded a successful counselling service is in the running for a prestigious national award.

Glenda Roberts of ExploringU Counselling - which has well-being centres in Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds - has been named a finalist in The Best Business Women Awards.

The awards were created by Debbie Gilbert, a multi-award-winning ‘mumpreneur’ who has been running small businesses since 1999.

The nationally recognised awards aim to recognise talented and dedicated female entrepreneurs who not only run successful businesses but in many cases also juggle the needs of their families.

Ms Roberts has been nominated in the best health and wellness business women category of the awards.

She was selected after guiding Exploring U, which also has practices in Colchester, Saffron Walden, Harold Wood and Hatfield Peveral, to leaders in its specialist fields of psychotherapy and rehabilitation.

“I am thrilled to have been put through as a finalist as ExploringU Counselling has already won two awards this year in recognition of our excellent work within the community.

“We aim to continue our excellent work and connect with more people that could benefit from our professional services.”

Ms Gilbert said: “We are delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To be a finalist is a major achievement. I would like to congratulate Glenda on her achievements.”

The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards will be held on October 20.
