Stunning town scenes

SCENES of Sudbury have been immortalized in a new calendar.

Images featured in the Sudbury Town Council 2012 calendar include Sudbury’s famous water meadows, landmarks like Thomas Gainsborough’s statue and boat trips on the River Stour.

Each of the pictures were taken in the month in which they appear, capturing a sense of the seasons and the changing landscape. They were taken by photographer Bill Hiskett.

“I have been taking images of the town for the last two or three years, but there was still a few months missing and I spent some time trying to get the perfect shots,” said the 52-year-old.

“I am delighted with the final outcome and I hope the people of Sudbury will feel the same.”

Sue Brotherwood, Sudbury Town Council clerk, said the calendar was a natural progression after Mr Hiskett produced postcards of the town for the Tourist Information Centre in Gaol Lane.

“We have worked with Mr Hiskett previously and know how good his photography is,” said Mrs Brotherwood.

“He has really produced the goods and the images are stunning.”

The calendars will soon be on sale at the TIC, priced £5.99.
