SIX marketing magicians from a Sudbury school dazzled judges to win a national competition.
Nathan Kelly, Charity Atkinson, Chris Badrick, Jordan Bond, Joe Lee and Hannah Dodd, all Btec performing arts students from Sudbury Upper School, saw off entrants from across the country in the Stage Business Competition, run by the Mousetrap Foundation charity which provides opportunities for youngsters to see theatre shows.
Head of performing arts Leo Cox said: “The pupils had to present a marketing campaign for a West End show to industry professionals, and they chose Mamma Mia.”
Preparations included a workshop with marketing expert Jules Goddard, which evidently stood the team in good stead as they were named the overall winners at the finals in London.
Each of the pupils won a £40 theatre voucher as well as free tickets to see Mamma Mia.
