After suffering the despair and loneliness of depression, a Polstead Heath student has set up his own website to help others in need.

“I was at a very depressed point,” said Nicholas Leon, founder of the We Are Teen Support website.

“I didn’t have anyone to talk to in my age group or who was in a similar position to me.”

Rather than allowing others with similar thoughts to continue suffering, Nicholas decided to do something about it.

The 16-year-old set up his website to provide a forum for people to talk, informally, about a range of issues, from depression to exam stress.

“It’s literally for anything a teenager might have problems with,” said Nicholas.

At the moment, the idea is to provide some support and awareness at a local level.

Nicholas, who is a Year 11 student at Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard, hopes people will find the service useful.
