SHOP workers at a store in Long Melford raised more than £400 for a life-saving charity after dressing as doctors and nurses for the day.
Staff at the Co-op in Hall Street organised the fundraiser in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
In all, 10 workers pulled on stethoscopes and doctors’ coats to encourage shoppers to donate to the cause.
Assistant manager Jo Creek said the fancy dress day raised £401.64.
“Everybody dressed up and got into the spirit of it,” she said.
“The customers loved it and thought it was funny to see us in our medical outfits.
“The EAAA does such good work and you never know when you might need it.”
The EAAA operates two helicopters covering Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and relies on donations from the public.
