An event to commemorate one of bloodiest battles of the First World War and its impact on Sudbury takes place on Sunday.

The event ‘Sudbury Remembers the Somme’ takes place at 7.30pm in St Peter’s, Sudbury.

The hour-long performance will be made up of words and music, and include extracts from ‘No Glorious Dead’ written by Sudbury historians Shirley Smith and Valerie Herbert.

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be served after the performance. Donations can be made to the St Peter’s Regeneration Fund.
