A refurbished telephone kiosk returned to Bear Street, Nayland, has a new role thanks to the village conservation society.
The original was removed by BT with no prior consultation in January 2011, and Nayland with Wissington Conservation Society was determined it should be replaced.
When the disused Wiston kiosk became available, members decided to adopt it and have it moved to Nayland.
The box has now been completely renovated by John Padget, helped by John Parsonson who lives opposite, and contains magazines and books for villagers to bring and exchange.
Secretary Andora Carver said: “We’re all delighted to have this iconic feature restored to Bear Street on the same site as the original.
“Many thanks to all those involved in bringing it back and restoring it.”
