A HALLOWE’EN disco organised to boost a fundraising appeal for a centre which supports adults with learning difficulties will be held at the weekend.

The event is part of a year-long aim to raise £10,000 for Sudbury Resource Centre – an adult training facility.

The appeal has been running since March and has already raised more than £5,000. It is hoped that if the target figure is reached, the money will be used to open a courtyard cafe at the centre in Northern Road.

Marion Corner, centre manager, said: “We are so grateful for all the support we have received from the community so far – it has been fantastic.

“However, we are urging people to continue to support us until the end of the appeal to ensure the centre is able to continue to provide a whole range of services which offer enormous benefits to the community.”

Tickets for the disco, which will take place at the centre on Saturday, are still available and the event is just one of many planned over the coming months, including a fish and chip quiz night in November.

The disco will take place from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and tickets are £7 for adults and £3.50 for children.
