A Sudbury shop is set to enhance its unique appeal by opening an art gallery.
Bazaar, in Gainsborough Street, will start exhibiting art work on its first floor from the end of the month.
Owner Bridget Sharp came up with the idea after growing frustrated with the unused space.
“Upstairs was just full of junk and we wanted to do something with it,” she said.
“We could have expanded the shop, but we wanted to support local talent.”
The business, which celebrated its 21st anniversary this year, sells a range of eclectic items.
A grand opening of the art gallery is expected to take place on May 31, with visitors being offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.
“Hopefully, this will help us bring in a different sort of customer and will be mutually beneficial to us and the artists,” said Mrs Sharp.
“It is a new, exciting step. Hopefully, we can get some fantastic art on display and put the space to good use.”
Local artist Glynis Hughes, best known for her paintings of hares, will be among those exhibiting.
