A rare orchid has been found in Glemsford. Pat Flinn, found the bee orchid on the village playing fields three weeks ago, before her husband George took the photo, but the couple kept it a secret to ensure it was not dug up. The orchid has now been mown down so its location is safe to reveal, with it believed the be the first example of the orchid ever seen in Glemsford.

There’s even hope it could show up again in future years, with Mr Flinn saying that being mown down could be good for helping it grow again.
