An 11-year-old singer from Sudbury has reached the second round of two television talent shows.
On Saturday Carys Thomas from Chelsea Court, Sudbury, made it through to the second round of three auditions on Britain’s Got Talent, just missing out on a spot on television.
Mum Sharron said despite the disappointment, Carys had impressed the judges: “She said hand on heart she thought Carys was a beautiful 11 year old with an extremely powerful voice that is going to take her places in the future but the third and final stage is live television and Carys is not confident enough to be put in that position just yet.
“She asked Carys to continue performing in school shows to boost her confidence.”
Despite missing out Carys enjoyed her day, meeting last year’s winner magician Richard Jones and runner-up impressionist Craig Ball.
Carys also recently got through to the second round of The Voice Kids.
If she reaches the TV shows she will get to work with celebrity singing coach Carrie Grant.
