A TERMINALLY-ILL woman has organised a film screening to raise money for ovarian cancer research.
Josie Stephenson, 72, from Corporal Lillie Close in Sudbury, who was diagnosed with the disease in January last year, has arranged a screening of The Bucket List, starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, at The Quay Theatre, and is hoping to raise £1,000.
Mrs Stephenson, who lives with her husband Kerry, said: “Something had to be done for research into ovarian cancer – it doesn’t give you any notification until it is too late, as was the case with me.
“When I was told, I said that for as long as I am alive I would raise money.”
The film will be shown at 2pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 27, with a raffle of prizes including a signed Ruth Rendell novel. Tickets cost £10.
