Scouts take on Biggles

HADLEIGH Sea Scouts are preparing to tread the boards in an original show which sees them also performing in an aircraft hangar.

Biggles Scouts About is set in North Africa and covers the kidnapping of a professor and his daughter.

There are parachutes, dogfights and Spitfires as well as recreations of famous scenes from The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The Scouts have been cast as the “goodies” while adults are playing the “baddies”.

And in partnership with the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum at Flixton, near Bungay, two performances will take place on site there.

Museum staff have offered advice on historical accuracy as well as helping to recreate a Spitfire cockpit.

Performances at the Scouts’ headquarters in Layham Road, Hadleigh, are from October 22 to 25 and at Flixton on October 29.

Tickets at £5 are available from Partridge’s in Hadleigh or on 07545 545744.

Everyone buying a ticket has the chance to win a balloon flight over Suffolk.
