AN ART museum celebrates its 50th anniversary with a special exhibition this week.
Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury will mark half a decade since it opened as a museum by showcasing Thomas Gainsborough’s masterpiece Diana and Actaeon, with additional information and works by renowned French artists including Renoir and Manet.
Assistant curator Sophie Woods said: “The work is highly significant and is in the Royal Collection, so it is rarely accessible to the public.”
The exhibition runs from Saturday until June 17, between 10am and 5pm except on Sunday when the museum is closed.
