Sudbury Town Council is employing security guards to ensure this year’s Party In The Park on Sunday in Belle Vue Park goes successfully and without a hitch.

A security company, along with council stewards and St John Ambulance and medical staff, will be on hand to keep the free event running smoothly.

“It looks like the weather is going to be good, but we are making sure there is plenty of medical help available should there be problems with heat,” said deputy town clerk Jacqui Howells.

“This year, we are not admitting anyone after 8pm. Last year, we had a lot of people a bit worse for drink coming in at the end so this year we are employing a security company on the gate.”

The event runs from 11am to 9pm with local bands, including Lone Crows, Highly Strung and The Flaming Llamas, performing from 5.30pm until it closes.

Arena events include displays from Mwah health and fitness, martial arts clubs Kuk Sool Won and Sudbury Rugby Club.

Mrs Howells added: “We have lots for everyone and we want families and people to come and have fun without spending too much money.”
