A 17-YEAR-OLD boy at the centre of a rape inquiry has had his bail extended.
The teenager, who is from the Halstead area, was arrested on suspicion of rape on December 17 last year, after a 23-year-old woman reported being attacked at Murton Slade in Haverhill the previous night.
Police questioned the boy before releasing him on bail. He returned to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Wednesday, when he had his bail extended until March 20.
A police spokeswoman said the investigation into the alleged rape was continuing.
Officers still want to speak to anyone who may have seen the woman between Murton Slade and Queen Street between 11pm on December 16 and 12.05am the next morning.
Calls should be made to West Suffolk CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
