Volunteers with a love for steam engines are being asked to lend a hand at Colne Valley Railway.

The railway in Castle Hedingham is entirely run by volunteers and requires around 15 helpers a day to take care of anything from train maintenance to gardening.

Anyone above the age of 14 can help and the railway, which has a varied collection of steam and diesel engines, is holding an open day for volunteers on March 23 from 10.30am to 3pm.
