Children at Hartest Primary school have said thank you to workers who transformed their garden area.

Staff from Philips Avent in Glemsford donated labour and equipment free of charge to the school over the summer holidays to create a herb garden, raised beds and a sensory garden with solar panelled water feature.

“The children think it is wonderful and it is a great quiet area where they love listening to the trickle of the water,” said Hilary Hall, headteacher at the school, which last week retained its Green Flag award for its eco-friendly approach.

“At the moment the garden is being used for creative play, but we are looking forward to planting in the spring.”
