Pupils from St Margaret’s Prep School in Gosfield have teamed up with members of Halstead Rotary Club to fill nearly 100 shoeboxes for underprivileged children in Eastern Europe.

The boxes – filled with toys, educational items and household goods – will be distributed to orphanages, hospitals, disabled children and families in need.

Rotary President Mike Prince, pictured, collected the boxes with help from pupils Toby Cutts, Katie Young, Alex Maynard, Harriet Fraser and Oliver Harper.

St Margaret’s principal Elaine Prowling said: “We are delighted to be able to contribute so many shoeboxes to the Rotary Club to help less fortunate children this Christmas.”
