The Woodman Inn in Halstead closed its doors after a fitting finale of live music.

The pub, in Colchester Road, has been sold by Punch Taverns to become a convenience store, despite protests from staff and customers.

Punch Taverns has also successfully applied for the Highbury Barn site in Great Cornard to change to a convenience store, to be part of the Co-operative Food chain.
