Praise for fundraisers

GREAT Cornard fundraisers have been praised by the national Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity for helping to swell its coffers by more than £30,000.

Marilyn and Alan Austin, together with their friend Darren Cox, a Sudbury market stallholder, have held four events in recent years – including a recent Masquerade Ball at the Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Club – to support the charity in memory of Marilyn’s sister-in-law Judy, who died from the disease aged 49.

The charity told the trio their contribution had funded the annual costs of equipment, enabling scientists to gain new insight into how breast cancer develops.
