The popular Bizzi Beans Café in Cherry Lane Garden Centre in Long Melford closed on Sunday with a special charity barbecue.

The family run business had been at the garden centre for seven years, but owners Todd and Justine Lewis decided to move on, claiming a rental offer from owners QD Group was unaffordable.

A spokesman for QD Group said the company was disappointed to see Bizzi Beans leave, but assured customers a new café would be brought in,with an extension being built, originally intended for Bizzi Beans.

He said: “Whilst we are saddened that Bizzi Beans have left we are looking forward to the arrival of a new café concession.

“We are sure that our customers will enjoy the extended seating area and a varied menu available from the new kitchen.

“We apologise for the inconvenience whilst we finish the extension and reopen and hope that everyone will come and experience the new café for themselves.

“Bizzi Beans have been very successful and we thank them for the time spent with us and we wish them well in any new ventures.”

Mr and Mrs Lewis have set up their own outside catering business.
