More than 350 people have had their say as part of a consultation on the future of children’s centres in Hadleigh and Glemsford.
The consultation to close nine centres in Suffolk runs until October 16.
Glemsford parish councillor Steve Plumb said he was not convinced by the county council’s arguments after Gordon Jones, cabinet member for children’s services, attended a parish council meeting on Tuesday night.
Mr Plumb said: “We got the impression that the consultation is rather pointless; it felt like the decision had already been made.”
A decision will be announced in December with changes from April.
