Police have said an investigation into car fires in Acton Lane, Sudbury, is ongoing, despite admitting they are yet to have a breakthrough.
The offences took place in the early hours of the morning on August 1 when three cars were set alight in an arson attack.
At a Sudbury Town Council meeting, Inspector Danny Cooper said they are unlikely to catch those responsible.
“It is very unlikely we are going to be able to solve these crimes based on the information we have,” he said.
“We need a breakthrough or a lead, but we haven’t got that despite our inquiries.”
He assured those present, however, that this type of crime was a priority for the police.
He said the investigation is still ongoing and the police are continuing to appeal for information or witnesses.
Anyone with any information should contact Suffolk Police on 101.
