Police are appealing for information after thieves stole credit cards from an elderly woman after she tried to offer directions.
Police are hoping to identify a man and a woman who approached an elderly resident outside her home in Court Street, Nayland, at around 3.30pm on November 7.
The suspects asked her for directions and, when she let them into her home to look at a map, they stole credit cards from her purse.
The cards were later used to withdraw cash from an ATM in Church Road, Colchester, shortly after 4pm the same day.
Earlier in the day, the woman had been approached by the suspects in the car park of Sainsbury’s in Sudbury, when they asked her what town they were in.
CCTV footage has shown that another woman, with blonde-coloured hair, was with the suspects inside the shop.
The man is described as white, aged in his late thirties and approximately 6ft tall.
The woman is described as being between 25 and 30 years of age, of small build and with shoulder-length dark-coloured hair.
If you can help identify the man or the two women, contact IMU at police headquarters on 101, quoting the crime reference number HD/14/1417.
