Teenagers trespassing in Belle Vue Park in Sudbury after dark are being targeted by police.

Officers have received reports of under-age drinking at the park in Newton Road, with youngsters clambering up walls to get inside.

Pcso Andrea Campbell told members of Sudbury Town Council that officers were aware of several incidents of teenagers entering the park after the gates had been locked.

“It is an area we are currently monitoring as there have been reports of anti-social behaviour in the skate park and teenagers congregating at Belle Vue House,” she said.

“Youths are scaling the walls and it is something we want to stop.”

Pcso Campbell added that crime in the town had fallen during October, with 77 crimes reported. For the same period last year, there were 108 reported incidents – a fall of 29 per cent.
