THE National Lottery has helped primary school children in Boxford have a more enjoyable playtime.
A new brightly-coloured metal playframe has been installed on the school field thanks to an £8,000 grant from The Big Lottery Fund.
Children from the school council picked which piece of play equipment to buy with the cash.
The school’s fundraising group – Friends of Boxford School – raised a further £4,000, with parents helping to reduce costs by installing the playframe base themselves, with digging equipment donated by Buildbase in Hadleigh
Headteacher Rob Giles said: “It is part of an ongoing project to make the field area accessible all year round.
“The plan is to connect our gazebo to the playframe to a trail and back to the main playground climbing area.”
