Turkey dinner, paper hats, brightly-wrapped presents and a log fire roaring in the grate.
The stage is set for a perfect English Christmas ... until the shots ring out.
Then there is the small matter of the extra-marital shenanigans.
But for Lavenham Players, a vital element is still missing.
They urgently need a new star for their Christmas production of Alan Ayckbourn’s Season’s Greetings after a key member of the cast was unable to take part.
Clive the novelist is central to the action and the Players are looking for an aspiring actor aged 25 to 40 to take on the challenge.
His character is the outsider at a family’s celebrations and needs to be up for a variety of on-stage festive activities — seduction and gunplay included.
The group’s past productions have attracted sell-out audiences and they hope this year’s will be no exception.
Season’s Greetings can be seen at Lavenham Village Hall on December 28, 29 and 30.
Anyone interested in taking on the role of Clive should contact Richard Way on 01787 247230.
