The proposed extension of a Hadleigh home is expected to be granted planning permission despite objections from neighbours.

An application for a two-storey side extension and single-storey rear extension at a property in Dunton Grove has been submitted to Babergh District Council.

Members of the authority’s development committee have been recommended to approve the work, but those living nearby are not in favour.

In letters sent to the council, residents claim the extension would block out light, lower the value of their homes and result in them being overlooked. The extension has been branded by some as ‘in-your-face’.

The views are supported by Hadleigh Town Council, which has cited concerns about over-development of the site and a loss of off-street parking.

The plans will be decided on Wednesday.
