TWO ex-MET police officers who ditched their London jobs to move to Suffolk and run a country pub are holding their last ever beer festival before selling up and moving on again.
Paul and Angela Acton have been running the Half Moon Inn, in Belchamp St Paul, for six years and have held a beer festival every year, attracting scores of beer lovers.
Their sixth and final beer festival will run from tomorrow until Monday and will include more than 30 real ales, perries and ciders.
Angela, 38, said: “We will be sad to go but we have both decided it is time for something new, although what exactly that is we still don’t know.
“Many of our customers have become good friends and we have had a wonderful time here.
“The beer festival, which is always phenomenally popular, is the perfect way to say our farewells.”
The couple have enjoyed a hugely successful stint at the pub, making the Good Beer Guide every year.
As well as live music, including a jazz band and the Judith Charmers band, there will be entertainment for children and a barbecue.
