A 15-MILE walk and family fun evening are being planned to raise money for three charities.
Around 25 people are expected to take part in a walk from Colchester to Sudbury Town Hall on October 15.
Later that day, a raffle, auction, disco and karaoke will be held at Sudbury Snooker Club in North Street, with all proceeds being split between the Teenager Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and Louby’s Lifeline.
Organisers Vicky Hamblin and step-daughter Sam, from Great Cornard, chose the trio of charities after Vicky’s niece, Laura Tierney, 17, was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year.
“She has undergone two operations in the last six months but has been left paralysed,” said Vicky.
“These charities will all play a part in improving her quality of life.”
Entry to the evening event, which starts at 7pm, is £2.50 and donations can be made at Sudbury Snooker Club.
