Two people have been charged with organising an illegal waste storage operation in Great Horkesley and will appear at magistrates’ court next week.

George Dench and Annette Williams have been charged with operating a regulated facility, namely a waste operation for the deposit and storage of waste, without being authorised by an environmental permit granted under regulation 13 of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010.

They are accused of running the facility on land known as Gean Tree, The Causeway, in Great Horkesley, between February 12, 2012, and February 13, 2016.

The pair, who have been granted bail, are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday at 10am.
