Eleven canoeists paddled their way from Sudbury to Bures in a bid to help those living with disabilities in Lebannon and the West Bank.

The group made their way along the River Stour, from the Granary, on Monday morning and arrived at Bures jetty at lunchtime to boost a project run by Christian Aid to help 30,000 people living abroad.

John Boardman, from Waldingfield Road, Sudbury, helped organise the fundraising challenge.

“So far, we have raised £600, but there is quite a bit more to be collected,” he said.
