Opticians offering free dyslexia tests

An opticians is offering free assessments to sufferers of dyslexia to find ways to improve their reading skills.

Wardale Williams, which has branches in Sudbury and Halstead, is offering free coloured overlays assessments and showcasing its intuitive colorimeter, both of which can help assess which particular colour may benefit some people with dyslexia to significantly improve their reading skills.

Joanna Williams, senior optometrist at Wardale Williams, said: “For some people with dyslexia, these symptoms can be reduced by the use of carefully applied colour and are treated by using either coloured overlays on text or by wearing specially tinted glasses.”
