The old Siam Surgery building in Siam Place, Sudbury, will soon be in use again after a local opticians announced it had bought site.

Independent opticians Drage and Tozer, currently based in North Street, has bought the former surgery to accommodate its expanding practice. The new Siam Surgery is located in the town’s community health centre.

The company says the move to larger premises will improve patient waiting times and create more jobs.

Partner and optometrist Helen Drage said: “This is an exciting move for both us and our patients.

“The increased space means we can establish a new dedicated contact lens centre and develop plans for a range speciality clinics in areas such as dry eye and low vision.

“This year we are celebrating 20 years serving Sudbury and the surrounding area.

“The move will be a great opportunity to mark this milestone and I look forward to releasing more news once we move into the building.”
