SCORES of children took up the challenge to find the bespectacled book character Where’s Wally in Long Melford recently, with Oliver Wright, from Sudbury, the lucky winner of lots of themed goodies.
Oliver’s name was plucked at random from hundreds of entries. The popular competition challenged youngsters to find the Where’s Wally character in shops and businesses around the village.
The competition was run by Landers Bookshop, in Hall Street, as a bit of fun during the summer holidays.
Organiser Sarah Wilson, from Landers, said: “We had an amazing response to the competition and I would like to thank all the businesses which took part.”
The bookshop organised the hunt to celebrate Independent Booksellers’ Week and the 25th anniversary of the first Where’s Wally book.
Oliver, nine, won an array of Where’s Wally books and writing materials as well as a tote bag.
