Strength in numbers as apprentices smash cash target

A group of apprentices from Delphi Diesel Systems brought Sudbury to a standstill as they pulled two lorries the length of North Street.

Five members hauled an eight-tonne, bright pink truck from the Grover and Allen pub down to Clinton Cards as the rest of the group collected donations from spectators, before all 15 members took the strain and dragged a second, 20-tonne lorry.

Dan Swain, who helped organise the event after colleague Steve Turner’s mum was diagnosed with cancer, said collections on the day had helped double the initial £1,000 target for Breast Cancer Campaign.
