This was the scene in Blackhouse Lane, Little Cornard, on Tuesday after a lorry became stuck in a pothole.
The truck became lodged at around 3pm, blocking the road for nearly three hours before it was pulled free.
Residents of the lane have been complaining for more than two years about the state of road, which has numerous potholes and is collapsing into the ditch in places. Sudbury councillor Tony Platt, who lives in the lane, said Suffolk County Council needed to fix the problem.
“We can only hope some action will be taken as a matter of urgency and our complaints will not be dismissed out-of-hand any more,” he said.
