The owner of a hairdressing salon in Sudbury’s Borehamgate precinct says other businesses should not suffer due to shoppers avoiding the centre as a result of the butcher’s display.
It has been claimed that some people give the centre a wide berth due to the window display at JBS Family Butchers.
Sue Sanders, who runs Fanboo, said: “It is up to the butcher’s what they display – they are just trying to make a living like the rest of us.
“But there is no reason for the rest of us to be penalised by people not coming here.”
Mrs Sanders said trade was only just beginning to pick up following improvements to the precinct last year.
“We are getting back on track and it is not good to hear people might not come to the centre,” she said.
“My customers have never mentioned anything bad about the butcher’s window and there is actually lots of positive interest.”
