NEARLY 1,000 people are benefiting from a community transport service in Sudbury every month.
Pensioners, school children and people with disabilities are amongst those reaping the rewards of Go START, a service which provides community transport in and around the town.
The group – launched in January to replace the Sudbury Town Area Rural Transport (Start) – is using its vehicles to make 430 passenger journeys every week.
John Phillips, Go Start founder, said: “We have come such a long way in the past 10 months and are providing transport for around 900 people each and every month.”
“We are also making more journeys than Start, so not only have we replaced a lost community service, we have improved it.”
Anyone wanting to register with Go START, book a journey or needing further information should call 01787 242116.
