Sudbury’s community wardens have welcomed a new addition to their team to help them keep the town tidy.

Apprentice Alex Payn (pictured left) joined the wardens last week and will be taking on tasks such as cleaning graffiti and litter picking.

“I have always loved helping out in the community and when I heard about the apprenticeship I just went for it,” said the 20-year-old, from Springlands in Sudbury.

Alex’s appointment follows the success of the town council’s warden apprenticeship scheme, which saw Nathan Mitchell take on the role last April.

“It has been a really eventful year,” added Nathan.
