RAFFLE prizes are being sought to help an event raising money for three charities go with a bang.
Vicky Hamblin and step-daughter Sam, from Great Cornard, have organised a 15-mile walk from Colchester to Sudbury, on Saturday, October 15, followed by a family fun evening at Sudbury Snooker Club.
Proceeds from the day will be split between the Teenager Cancer Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and Louby’s Lifeline.
The event is being organised in aid of Vicky’s niece, Laura Tierney, 17, who underwent two operations to remove a brain tumour earlier this year.
Vicky said: “We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of local businesses lending their support with raffle prizes, but more would be welcome.
“We want as many people to come along to the evening event as possible and the more prizes on offer the better.”
Around 25 people are expected to take part in the day’s walk, while the evening event, which starts at 7pm and costs £2.50, includes a disco, karaoke and auction.
Donations and raffle prizes can be given to Sudbury Snooker Club, in North Street, by calling 01787 376209.
