A 200-year-old milestone has been restored and repositioned on the A134 near to Bridge Street where it was recently discovered buried and forgotten.
Now drivers travelling from Sudbury to Bury St Edmunds will be able to spot the historic milestone on the roadside.
Rob Simpson, who was part of the steering group behind the restoration, said: “Milestones are an important piece of our history having been put up circa 1780 to 1800.
“There were originally over 200 milestones in Suffolk, but there are now less than half that amount and few of these are in good condition.”
Jake Simpson, Rob Simpson, Simon Webb, Shane Green and John Nunn (pictured left to right) worked together to get the milestone back where it belongs.
