Megan appeal receives boost

FUNDRAISERS put on their dancing shoes to raise £145 in support of an appeal for a Long Melford youngster.

More than 20 people took part in a zumba keep-fit session at the village’s primary school to raise funds for Megan Roper.

The event was organised by Jodie Budd, a customer service assistant at Sudbury Town Hall, to boost a £20,000 appeal launched by Megan’s parents, Sarah and Carl.

The couple want to make alterations to their home in Swanfield, which will make life easier for four-year-old Megan – who suffers from an undiagnosed condition which leaves her unable to walk, talk or sit up without help – as she grows up.

Mrs Budd said: “A big thanks must go to Natalie Cant, our instructor, who took the class free of charge and Long Melford Primary School, which let us use its hall for free as well.

“This meant all the money given went directly to Megan.”
