Fire chiefs have warned Hadleigh residents to keep their windows shut as fire crews tackle a huge blaze at a chemical warehouse.

Seventy firefighters from 12 crews have been tackling the fire at Lady Lane industrial estate in Hadleigh this morning.

Crews were called at 5.50am to the estate which includes Challs International, a household cleaning product factory, and the area has since been sealed off.

Residents have been warned to close all windows and doors because of the danger of chemicals in the smoke.

The ceiling of one of the buildings has collapsed and a neighbouring property was evacuated.

The fire in one of the warehouses affected was under control by 9.15am after crews used to lorries to remove several tonnes of chemicals.
