Three men are wanted by police after leaving a “trail of destruction” in their wake and assaulting a 65-year-old man.

Police want to hear from anyone who was out in Halstead on the night of Friday, January 30, and the early hours of Saturday, January 31.

It comes after a man was left hospitalised and vehicles and business vandalised.

At around midnight, three men caused damage to a black Honda motorbike parked outside the Laniger restaurant.

The men, aged in their late teens or early 20s, also cracked the window of the restaurant before running off and pushing a 65-year-old man to the ground from behind.

The man suffered a broken collarbone and ribs and was left needing hospital treatment.

The three suspects then smashed a window of the White Hart Inn in the High Street before getting into a black Seat Leon and driving off.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “The suspects are believed to have been drinking in the Royal Oak earlier in the evening.”

Anyone with information about the men or who saw what happened is asked to call Detective Sergeant Mark Cadd at Braintree Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
